About Me

I suppose you want to know a little bit about me, eh? Well, here's a little list for you!
- I'm Canadian, a west-coast Canadian to be exact, from Vancouver Island in the beautiful province of British Columbia.
- I'm young, though I don't really realize it.
- I'm a little short...
- I'm pretty darn good looking
- I'm pretty darn special, too! (at least that's what my mom tells me...)
Okay seriously, now. I'm a young guy who's fresh out of the Digital Media Technologies diploma program (now known as iPro) at Malaspina University-College, who is now looking to find a place in the wide world. I'm hoping to do this through a combination of the assortment of writing and web design skills I've managed to assemble throughout my life.
Writing
I've been a writer for as long as I can remember. I couldn't quite tell you what it is about writing that attracts me so deeply to it, but it satisfies me in ways nothing else can. Recently I had a short story called Funerals which was short listed for the NAC Short Fiction Contest, which was a thrill. I've also recently started a blog called "A Dribble of Ink", a place where I can share with others my love of writing and reading. I hope to bring everything from book reviews, to author retrospectives to author interviews to my blog in the coming months. It's just one way in which I satiate the hunger inside of me.
Web Design
The past couple of years that I spent embroiled in the IECP and DMT programs at Malaspina University-College have been some of the best of my life. Between the time when I first started the program and my graduation I was amazed at the amount of knowledge that my great instructors imbued upon me and my classmates. They brought so much to the table and kept us on the leading edge of the industry in terms of creating semantic, standards-compliant websites. Web Design allows me to express myself creatively in a different way than writing does and that's something that helps me stay sane!
Other Stuff
Recently I've been getting into photography. You can find a lot of my photos on my flickr page. I've also dabbled in graphic design for a few local companies, examples of which you can find on my portfolio page.
I'm a creative guy and that creativity is going to come out regardless of what I'm doing. What I figure, though, is that if I'm going to be creative, I might as well try to help other people out as well. Hopefully, my creativity will help you out in whatever project you need done!
