10,000 what? 10,000 views!
This is a pretty exciting milestone for me. When I first started A Dribble of Ink, only a couple of months ago, I didn’t really know what I was in for. I knew I wanted to blog, I had a lot of things to say… but would people care enough to listen?
I suppose the answer to that question is “yes”.
I’d like to thank everyone who’s dropped by the blog, and especially those who have seen fit to return again and again! I’d like to thank all the wonderful authors who have stopped by to lend me their time and give all my readers reason to take time form their day to read my blog. So I’d like to give a big shout out to David Anthony Durham, Patrick Rothfuss, Robin Hobb, Joe Abercrombie, Brian Ruckley, and Eldon Thompson; your kindness will not be forgotten.
The first 10k views brought a lot of fun, a few learning experiences and some interesting people around these parts and I can’t wait to see what the next 10k brings!
Congratulations, big time! You really deserve it because it is clear that you put so much effort in it, so it’s only naturally that you’re ‘rewarded’ like this. Up to the 20K!
Holy crap! Nice work Aidan! It’s taken me several years to get to 10,000 total views, but you’ve had some sweet interviews and good visibility on your site. That’s awesome!
Congrats!
Congratulations! Give yourself a pat!
Well done! You deserve it :) As always, best wishes for the nest milestone,
I’ve never commented on your blog before (this is hotaru anne btw from the Terry Brooks forums), so here’s my first comment, lol: Congratulations on hitting 10 000 views! That’s totally awesome, here’s to another 10 000+ more! *raises her water bottle* :)
Thanks, everyone! It baffles me that I’ve manage to reach a milestone like this so quickly and I really appreciate all of you for helping me get there!
Li: It’s nice to see you over here! It’s always nice to see fellow TBFers reading my blog!
aidan, congrats! I peek in a lot but never comment. Great site, love the reviews. :)
Congrats. It’s amazing how stuff can take off sometimes. I used to get about an average of 150 hits a day and I was happy with that. And then we had a post about the J.J. Abrams movie 1-18-08 and whoa! I got 1500 hits in one day! It blew me away. Now I get about 300-400 hits a day and I can attribute the increase to that one post. You just never know what’s going to do it.
SQT,
Yeah, it’s amazing what one article can do, eh? With any luck I’ll see a nice consistency to my visitor’s from now on just like you did!
You’re also right about never knowing what’s going to do it. There have been times that I’ve posted something and been Sure that it was going to elicit a lot of interest… and nothing. And then there have been times when I’ve put something up on a whim (Like my Trifecta of Awesomeness photo) and people have flocked to it!
Wow, that is so cool (and I’m more than a little jealous ;o) )
Here’s to the next 10,000, you deserve it!
Congratulations! Big milestones are incredibly exciting :)
Thanks!
Graeme, I’m not sure you have much to be jealous about! You’re blog was one of the big factors in allowing me to get this one off the ground!
Kim, big milestones are exciting! I suppose it’ll be a while until the next big one, though!
