No payment, just enjoyed it. A lot.

In the end, it's all about taste.

Are you all getting paid to post a good review of this? This book COULD HAVE been very engaging and original, yet it decides to choose an easy route and go for a formalatic, by the numbers, good time read.
The Job story here is elementary, Joby is just whiny, which the author believes that will be unerstood as a life of hardship, yet it quickly becomes too much to care about. Joby is a cry-baby, and the reader has to had him tissue papers through out the book.
The writing style is extremely dull. And the periodic cuss word is just a proof that no clear style was thought of. It was choosen for shock value and fails.
I can't understand the generally good reviews here.

Great review....and very accurate to boot. My little complaint would, however, be that the devil is a less sinister than I would of liked him to be. But again, just a little thing. By no means does it diminish the great work by Mark Ferrari.

I bought this as a birthday present to myself but haven't been able to get to it yet. I think my Christmas present to myself will be to actually read it.

I'm glad there are other people out there enjoying/looking forward to Mark's novel. It really deserves to get more attention from a larger audience.

I should thank the other bloggers who first gave me the impetus to pick up The Book of Joby in the first place!

This is sitting on my shelf because of your earlier interview with the author. I'm glad you liked it as well because I've been looking forward to it and now I'm even more excited to read it. I better get to it soon!
