Well, i guess i am similar to u guys a bigtime fan. But honestly, sometimes it’s just good to leave things as they are. The new Starwars series sucked! The new Lighthouse series makes me go byebye..

I disagree. I always wondered why there weren’t nine books, since that is THE pivotal number thruout the series. Seemes very inconsistent to just have seven books. I think there would be few fans who would mind if more were written to fill out the missing stories so often hinted at, but never told.

yeah, I’ll read the comics someday if I find the time, but right now I have to draw lines, so no comics.

I’d love to see the stories in longer form though.

A collection of short fiction (both involving and not involving the Ka-tet) is something I could certainly get excited about. I rather he maybe explored other parts of the Universe, though, rather than empty spots of what’s already been told.

Read what I wrote on Suvudu. There is an additional quote from March 2009 where King elaborates a bit more possibly. The new Dark Tower novel very well could be a series of short fiction pieces interwoven into a narrative of some kind.

The area in question is right after Roland has told his new ka-tet what transpired in his youth and why he is the way he is. It sounds like Roland won’t be a part of whatever King is going to do, but it also sounds like his ka-tet could be involved. We’ll have to wait and see what he plans on doing.

Frankly, I’ve always thought the Dark Tower lent itself well to serialized storytelling. It’s why Marvel picked it up for new Dark Tower stories and obviously why King has another story to tell.

Looks like I’ll be able to do a reread in the next few years of my favorite piece of literature.

I’m with you – no need for another novel, so this is disappointing.

Though I’d be happy to read more of the events between Wizard and the Glass and The Gunslinger.
