True, Gladiator was great. Kingdom of Heaven, on the other hand, was not. Still, the trailer looks good and I remain cautiously optimistic. One thing’s for sure, it’ll beat the trousers off the Kevin Costner version I rewatched recently. I expect this one will rank somewhere between the Costner “Hood” and Mel Brooks’s “Men in Tights” in my book :)

Though I’ve only see the theatrical version of Kingdom of Heaven, I hear that the longer director’s cut is a much superior film, putting it up there with some of Scott’s best.

Agree with Seth on this one: Gladiator is pure win, KoH was really disappointing (among its many problems was the fact that Bloom was not a great leading man). Still, this trailer looks promising – about time we had a serious Robin Hood film.

Looks like Gladiator 2 to me. I’m really starting to get tired or the same directors/producers working with the same actors on movies that have the same feel. I might be wrong when I finally watch it, but the trailer backs me feel like I’ve been there and done that.

Yeah, it does look like Gladiator 2 (which doesn’t really suit the Robin Hood story), but I’m willing to believe that that’s because of the marketing group who created the trailer and wants to capitalize on Scott and Crowe’s previous success. I’d also be willing to bet that most of the footage in this trailer is taken from the later parts of the movie.

Still, we won’t know until it’s released, I suppose.

I just have to ask, wasn’t the Kevin Costner Robin Hood bad enough???? I think Ridley Scott is great, as is Russell Crowe, but Russell Crowe as Robin Hood? No.
