Very well written review! The Book Smuggler’s had me really intrigued with their own review of ‘The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms’, and yours likely sealed the fact that I’ll have to pick this up. Won’t be able to read it anytime soon mind you (the blessing and curse of a History major) but it sounds great and I’ll put it much closer to the top of the massive buy pile.

To be honest, I haven’t heard a thing about this book – It looks to be very good, and the comments here aren’t doing anything to dissuade me of buying it – on the to buy list it goes!

I’ll definitely have to check this one out. I’m not big on Epic Fantasy. This sounds like the Fantasy that I like.

Okay, I give up – I read the review. I’m around forty pages from being done and I utterly love this novel – the writing is just stunning. I thought it was going to be a samey fantasy novel but like you said, it’s something completely different!

I can’t wait to finish it so I can gush over at MFB!

I just posted my own review of this book though I still enjoy looking around and seeing how other opinions of it compare to my own. I’m rather surprised that I seem to be the only one not bowled over by it. I thought it was a rather enjoyable book that fell short of being a really great one. While I was not aware of the hype surrounding it, I ultimately found myself disappointed by it. Oh well. To each their own.
