Ewww. Why would anyone think the bottom one was better? There is so much more flow and movement in the top one.

Looks like a poster to some C-list Bollywood musical. Horrible.

A shame given how good the novel is. Hopefully for the next in the series they keep the hardcover with the original style art.

    Oh dear.
I’ll have to hunt down a copy of the hardcover.

The top one is cooler for sure, but I just don’t like the yellow font/border…

There’s so much sexual innuendo in that second cover that I’m ashamed to say anything more!

    Absolutely atrocious!
Great book, though… forget the cover.

Yeah, the first I’d buy, the second I laugh at.

You know while were on the “Middle eastern Prince of Persia” topic… Could u recommend any good novels that are set in this type of genre? Im a big Prince of Nothing fan, but any other good ones that you can think of?

The first cover is so good that it makes just want to EAT the book. Second cover I almost hit the back button thinking I was in the slash fanfic section.

Yes. Apparently they are fucking with us. Either that, or they’ve got things confused with a certain Disney movie

That second one looks like a home made job, the first one reminds me of the old adventure style books. The first one is definately much better.

What is happening to the world of cover art, Aidan? EXPLAIN!!!

  • aidan September 18, 2011 at 10:06 am

I’ve been fighting the good fight for years, Miles… and I don’t have an answer for you!

I’d be embarrassed to be seen reading the second one, no matter how good. It looks like a romance novel, no offense to romance aficionados. The top one reeks with the promise of something rich and exciting and still maintains class and, dare I say, a little maturity.
