Graphic Design
I've dabbled a little in Graphic Design, almost a necessity for a Web Designer, and found that I really quite enjoy it! I've mostly done work for little companies and below you will find several of the pieces I've done!
My rates for Graphic Design are fair and negotiable, feel encouraged to contact me and we can work something out!
Screen Play - Western Edge Theatre
Download the Full Poster - 5MB
This was the third in the 2006-2007 series of posters for Western Edge Theatre.
The idea behind this poster was to capture the mood of the play, which is a retelling of Casablanca set in a bar in Buffalo in the year 2015. It's a pretty crazy concept, but it was fun playing around with the image of Bogey and deciding how to incorporate the play's ties to Canada.
The idea behind this series of posters is to use a large, striking image to draw the eye. I'm not a fan of the cluttered look to posters that is used by most theatre companies and was determined to avoid that if at all possible. I happen to think I did a pretty good job of it!
Shakespeare's Will - Western Edge Theatre

This was the second in the 2006-2007 series of posters for Western Edge Theatre.
This play was a period piece about Shakespeare's wife, Anne Hathaway, and I wanted to capture that with the poster. The idea behind this poster is that it looks like a poster created on parchment that one might find back when Shakespeare was still alive. Obviously this isn't totally true, as I still needed to create a poster that would grab the attention of potential theatre goers, but I think the idea is there was pulled off well. I love the image of the rose in the middle of the poster. I think it's beautiful.
Sugar Daddies - Western Edge Theatre

This was the first in the 2006-2007 series of posters for Western Edge Theatre and was also the first poster I created for W.E.T.
I wanted to create a poster that was different than the posters created by competing theatre companies and so I looked to movie posters for inspiration.
I think the big, bright image in the middle is an effective way to draw the eye to the poster (plus that lolly-pop looks delicious!) I wanted the poster to be fun and exciting and decided that bright, unusual colors were the way to go; The play sold out on all five nights of its performance, so I suppose I did a pretty good job!
