    1. She is pretty hot.

    2. It is pretty original for a fantasy cover.

    3. Where do you find such covers?

    1. Yes. She’s got no junk in her trunk, though.

    2. No.

    3. Out of my ass. Or on the author’s website. Whichever seems less painful at the time.

Have you seen the cover for the first book in the series? It’s very stylistically similar (only with a guy). It fits very well with the style of the first one.

This is the Amazon page for the first book. http://www.amazon.com/Conquerors-Shadow-Ari-Marmell/dp/0553807765#noop

Yeah, I own a copy of the first book. I appreciate the stylistic approach (especially the skull helmet, a nod to the first cover), but it’s still another chick in leather with a big knife. Doesn’t excite me.

People need to adopt my cover rule:

Don’t read anything with someone in a state of undress on the cover / striking a sexy pose. Its like an email spam filter… but in real life.

It isn’t all that bad. My eyes certainly don’t hurt from looking at it. I might feel like people would think I’m pervy/weird if I was reading it in public though.

    Rawr. I admit it, I like. :D

Not sure if that cover would make me want to read the book, but I am reminded of my crush on Kate Beckinsale ala Underworld – and wondering what kind of start-em-up conversational bit I could say to the girl…

“Don’t suppose you’ll be skinning squirrels with that knife, huh? Let’s talk about it over an ale.” :-p
