Jemisin\" width=\"373\" height=\"566\" class=\"center\" \/><\/a>\n<p>Just to ensure that Orbit Books doesn&#8217;t curbstomp me, I should make it clear that this <strong>is likely an early catalog cover and is subject to change (slightly or drastically) before the book ships later this year<\/strong>. For example, the first cover for Jemisin&#8217;s <strong>The Broken Kingdoms<\/strong> looked like <a href=\"https:\/\/aidanmoher.com\/blog\/2010\/04\/cover-art\/cover-art-the-broken-kingdoms-by-n-k-jemisin\/\">this<\/a>, the second (and final) version looked like <a href=\"https:\/\/aidanmoher.com\/blog\/2010\/07\/cover-art\/cover-art-final-artwork-for-the-broken-kingdoms-by-n-k-jemisin\/\">this<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Phew. With that out of the way, can I squee? I don&#8217;t <em>love<\/em> it quite so much as the cover for the <a href=\"https:\/\/aidanmoher.com\/blog\/2009\/04\/cover-art\/cover-art-the-hundred-thousand-kingdoms-by-nk-jemisin\/\">first<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/aidanmoher.com\/blog\/2010\/07\/cover-art\/cover-art-final-artwork-for-the-broken-kingdoms-by-n-k-jemisin\/\">second<\/a> volumes in <a href=\"http:\/\/nkjemisin.com\/\">Jemisin<\/a>&#8216;s <em>The Inheritance Trilogy<\/em> (no, not <a href=\"https:\/\/aidanmoher.com\/blog\/2011\/03\/cover-art\/cover-art-inheritance-by-christopher-paolini\/\">this one<\/a>), but only due to my partiality towards the colour palettes used. It&#8217;s easy to say that Jemisin&#8217;s trilogy is one of the most consistent and sharpest looking sets to hit store shelves in years. Designer Lauren Panepinto and artist <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shannonassociates.com\/artists\/index.cfm?artist_name=cliffnielsen\">Cliff Nielsen<\/a> deserve much attention and back-patting.
