In case you’re not completely sick of Cover Art posts here at A Dribble of Ink, I present you with the totally rockin’ cover for the Subterranean Press version of The City & The City by China Mieville.
Hmm, I actually liked the original quite a bit better. This is good, reminds me of a bunch of Phillip K. Dick paperback covers I’ve seen, but the original cover I really loved. (I know many don’t agree.) In fact, it was that cover that got me to take the plunge into Mieville in the first place. I had heard tons about him, he was definitely on my radar screen, but it was the cover that made me decide to take the plunge sooner rather than later.
And for the record, Aidan, I love your book cover posts. Never get tired of ’em.
LOVE the cover. The original is nice too. It has it’s own unique appeal (more serene looking to me). But this one definitely tips the scale for me. It’s edgy and different (as in I haven’t scene the market flooded with it yet.. although I might just be out of touch). I have also been meaning to pick up Mieville.
Actually either cover would make me flock to the book, but it would be under very different moods that I would start reading it.

In my opinion, this is a seriously good looking cover. Great work!
