Absolutely enjoyed it, especially how it ended. Brilliant.

Just saw your work (is it yours?) this week from a Facebook post. I am enthralled, and I mean no reference to The Gamesters of Triskellion. I am a math and science educated sci-fi fan, surprised that I never gave thought to this question or idea. I thank you for making it real, while also giving me the broadest grin I’ve had in a long time. (And that’s something, considering the depression and turmoil of my life presently.) From this graphic I had to track down your site. Glad I did. I look forward to reading much more of it.

Came across this via stumbleupon and it was well worth the read.

The only thing I think that is worth mentioning is this violates the scientific method from the aliens perspective.

If I am a colonizer of a secular intelligent species (which I think is a safe assumption to make to any peaceful alien civilization that finds earth) then I wont judge the entirety of the human race on one specimen. Its just like in a lab we don’t test a new idea once and pollsters don’t ask just 1 person who they will vote for. Its a fundamental law of statistics, the more people I abduct the better the chance they will be able to provide an accurate representation of the earth. So when I am making my first human abduction, I wont abduct just a lone human, I will abduct at least 2 and probably more, hold them for a few hours, find consistencies and patterns in their behaviour and use that as a more accurate representation of the species I have abducted.

Hell I would want to see how they interact with each other as a measure of if they are intelligent.

If you try to explain planetary motion to aliens, drawing orbits as ellipses instead of circles is great.
If you then put the sun at the centre of the ellipse rather than at one of the foci, you would’ve been better off drawing a circle.
