Over at his Official Web Site, Terry Brooks and Del Rey released the first chapter in his upcoming novel, The Gypsy Morph.

The Gypsy Morph is the concluding volume in Brooks’ The Genesis of Shannara trilogy. The trilogy acts as a bridge to connect his very famous Shannara series and his lesser known Word & Void trilogy. If the first two novels in the trilogy, Armageddon’s Children and The Elves of Cintra, are any indication, Brooks fans have a lot to look forward to!

Two further chapters will be released on July 1st and August 1st. In celebration of the chapter’s release I present you with another look at the ill-advised cover for the US edition of The Gypsy Morph!

You can find the chapter HERE. The link is located on the right side of the screen just underneath the cover art.

Sweet. Terry’s stuff is always worth owning/reading and holds a special place in my heart. His web guy though… not sure about him. ;)

You know, Aidan, as much as I share your (and practically everyone else’s) sentiments about the cover, I think it will look pretty cool when actually in hand.

Sure, it won’t go with the covers for the other two books, but then, they don’t go together anyway, so the lack of theme will be the theme that ties the Genesis project together. It will help confuse Khan and he won’t be able to use it for his evil purposes…

Oh wait, wrong Genesis… my bad.

    Oh and speaking of Terry,

I got a birthday coming up and I think I’m going to ask my wife for the Sword trilogy… those are the only one’s I don’t own and, ironically, the one’s I’ve been itching to re-read the most.

    Yea, me. ;)

I’m actually reading Word & Void for the very first time as we speak — it’s much better than I had anticipated so far. Can’t wait to re-read Shannara after this and Genesis.

    Jim,

I read Running with the Demon after I read Armageddon’s Children and Elves of Cintra and was blown away, I can’t imagine why I didn’t read it sooner. I picked up A Knight of the Word used. Great Series.
