Who knows how it will turn out, but I like the looks of this new trailer.
Almost Batman Begins-esque in restarting the series with a look at the origins. Purists may not like it, but I have a lot of faith in Abrams.

Saw this yesterday at the cinema for Watchmen..it does look cool, but..I’m a bit worried…it doesn’t look like Star Trek in the way that Phantom Menace didn’t look like Star Wars..
Abrams is the man though..so..I should no doubt put aside my Star Wars scars and be optimistic :)
This looks awesome. I was impressed by the improvement in graphics, screen play & special effects from the original Star Trek to Star Trek – The Next Generation. But, even NG was getting a bit old now. And Abrams seems to have brought in the next step with an equal amount of improvement.
And I totally agree with this possibly being the Batman Begins of the Start Trek universe…
