Followin the nice (if slightly sterile) US cover for Shadowrise by Tad Williams, we have the equally nice (if slightly sterile) UK Cover! I like nearly everything about the design of this cover (colour scheme and font, in particular), but wish it said more about the novel it represents. It doesn’t give us eny idea of what goes on between the pages. Still, it’ll certainly look nice on bookstore shelves.

Amen, brother. Tad Williams is a must buy for me and the covers for both US and UK releases are, if somewhat reserved, nicely done. I don’t make it over here to post much, but am regularly checking up to see the covers coming out, complete with succinct commentary. Its the feature that has me checking in daily, if only on my google reader.

Great mind think alike, I guess!

Glad you’re enjoying the cover art posts. Sometimes I worry that I overdue it, but then I realize that if I’m not just blogging about what catches my eye or interests me (like covers, which I’ve always been interested, well before the blog) then what’s the point of blogging?

Comes across as ‘murder mystery in the Appalachians’.

Sterile is a good wood. I can’t imagine anyone buying it for the cover–it doesn’t scream out badass, nor does it make me cringe.
