From Dragonmount:

Towers of Midnight by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson

Like The Gathering Storm before it, the first image available of the cover for Towers of Midnight was an early mockup, giving a good idea of the final cover, but lacking polish. Unlike The Gathering Storm, the final cover for Towers of Midnightturned out… not half bad! For a Darryl K. Sweet cover, at least. Much, much, much better than flatulent Rand!

You know…not bad at all (for Sweet, like you said)

I agree with everyone saying that it is not great but it isn’t awful either.

It is funny that the measure of success for a Sweet cover these days is that if it is not awful, then that in itself is an accomplishment.

I do like the choice of scene, one from which a lot of the fans of the series have been eagerly awaiting.

I like it. I also like Sweet’s work–sure, some of it’s tepid, but I like his work. I guess I’m unusual in this respect, as much as people diss him….

I don’t know. I must say I prefer the cleaner “British” covers myself. Wheel of time logo and interesting background. I really do not like most american covers. Garish colours and characters on the front.

Sweets art is to Generic-Fantasy for my tastes. Lord Of Chaos is the worst I think it looks like a Romance Novel. I’m sorry Rand should never be drawn and painted like he’s Fabio….NO!!!

It’s not terrible. That doesn’t change the fact that the unattractive cover art is the whole reason it took me forever to start reading the books in the first place. If a very trusted friend hadn’t insisted I read the first book, then I wouldn’t be a fan today. I’m not trying to be mean, but I just do not like these covers. Never have, never will.

I think this is my favorite of all the Wheel of Time covers to date.
