Once I posted an April Fools Day blog post with this title. Now it’s true. Is it news? Sure. At least we know for sure that it will hit its July 12th, 2011 release date. Word is that recording of the audiobook is already underway.
Was the wait worth it? Time will tell. I think it will be on part with the first three but likely not better than STORM, which is a climax book and DANCE is not a climax book.
ADWD is a climax book. It should definitely be the climax of the ‘Daenerys in the East’ storyline that’s been going on since Book 1. If ADWD ends and Dany is still traipsing around the east thinking about how maybe one day she should go to Westeros, something has gone badly wrong somewhere and there’s no chance of this series finishing in seven books.
The question is: will it be on par with the rest of the series (and superior to A Feast For Crows)?

We’ll see Adam. :)
