I loved the cover for the first volume in Marmell’s YA Widdershins Adventure series, and I love this one. Jason Chan can have my babies. Though I still prefer the original name for the first novel, Household Gods.
Nice! I’ve never seen these covers before but they are both quite arresting. So many YA covers, or just covers in general, these days seem to be photography based. And although some of those are still quite nice I think it’s still hard to go past original artwork.

It is very clever. That one simple design trick lifts what would otherwise be a fairly generic cover to a different level.
I’m with Martin on loving the simple little design trick.
Household Gods? isn’t that a Turtledove title from like 20 years ago?
Also agree with Martin. Jason Chan is free to have my babies too.
